Wave after wave

When I was on holiday, me and my brother kept surfing on the waves at the beaches with our mini surfboards. Sometimes we would catch the really big waves and go really far but sometimes we would miss them and this would be a bit disappointing. But there was always more waves, even if we had to wait a while.
This got me thinking about how waves are like opportunities. You could miss a big opportunity in your life, like me and my brother missing the big waves, and be really upset by it. Sooner or later though another opportunity will come along and who knows, you might prefer that one to the one you missed.
